Assessment

Find out what's worth fixing first.

You know too much of your team's time goes on work a computer could do. You're being told you need AI. What you don't have is a clear list of what to fix, in what order, and what it's worth.

In two to four weeks, we look at how your business really runs and talk to the people who do the work. You get a written report and a roadmap: what to fix first, what can wait, and where AI fits.

The same Assessment found twelve priority opportunities in three weeks for a specialist litigation firm. Read the case study

Why businesses start here.

Everyone says you need AI.

Most businesses aren't ready for it yet, because their data sits in several places and their systems don't share it. The Assessment shows what needs fixing before AI can help, and where it can help today.

The manual work is hidden.

Nobody sees the hours spent copying, chasing and checking, because they're spread across the team. We find them and show what they cost you.

You pay for more than you use.

Most businesses already pay for tools that could do far more. Often the first win costs nothing new.

Six areas. One honest picture.

Systems and data.

What you run, how it fits together, where your data lives, and what you pay for but don't use.

How the work gets done.

From first enquiry to invoice. What's done by hand, what's done twice, and where work waits.

AI.

Where AI is already used, where it could help now, and what needs to be in place first.

Build or buy.

Whether each gap is best filled by a tool you have, one you can buy, or something built.

People.

Skills, appetite for change, and who leads on technology.

Customers.

How customers find you, order, get updates and pay.

How it works.

  1. Business and technology review.

Free. Half a day with you, then a written note within three working days on where we see potential and whether an Assessment is worth doing. If it is, we agree what it covers and who we should talk to, and fix the price.

  2. Survey.

A short questionnaire for you and your managers, across the six areas.

  3. Interviews.

Confidential conversations with people at every level, 45 to 60 minutes each. We hear what actually happens, not what's supposed to.

  4. Report and roadmap.

We turn the survey and interviews into a written report and a roadmap, and present them to you and your leadership team.

Two to four weeks from start to debrief, depending on the size of the business. The price is fixed before we start.

What you leave with.

  • A written report in plain English, with an honest score for each area.
  • A roadmap: what to do in the first 90 days, what comes next, and what can wait.
  • A clear view of where AI fits now, and what needs to be in place first.
  • A debrief with your leadership team, with time for questions.

The report is yours. Take it to another supplier, do the work in-house, or do nothing for six months.

What we need from you.

One lead contact.

Someone who can answer questions and put us in touch with the right people.

Answers to the survey.

From you and your managers.

45 to 60 minutes.

With each person we interview.

A look at your systems and documents.

Exactly which ones depends on what we find, so we tell you in the first days of the Assessment what we need and why.

What an Assessment found.

The same Assessment, for a specialist litigation firm across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The firm was profitable and the team was capable. But the owner was the decision point for every new piece of work, and knowledge lived in people's heads rather than in the systems. Three weeks later, the finding was clear: technology wasn't the problem. Discipline and structure around the existing tools were. So the roadmap starts with the systems the firm already owns.

Projected over 24 months

20 to 30%
more capacity, without new hires
£150,000+
a year of capacity freed up across the firm
50 to 80%
fewer routine client update calls
£0.5m to £1m
projected valuation uplift at exit

It was a law firm, but the questions weren't about law. They were about how the work gets done, and they're the same questions we ask any business.

After the Assessment.

The roadmap usually points to three kinds of work:

Switch on what you already pay for.

Features in your current tools that nobody uses.

Take the manual work away.

Connect your systems so data is typed once, and stop the copying, chasing and checking.

Build what's missing.

Where nothing you have or can buy fits, a system built around how you work.

If you want us to do the work, we scope it for £3,000 to £4,000 and deliver it at a fixed price. If you'd rather do it yourselves or with someone else, the roadmap is yours.

Asked and answered.

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks, depending on the size of the business.

What does it cost?

£2,000 to £4,000, fixed before we start.

How is it different from the free half-day review?

The review is half a day with you. It shows where the potential probably is, and we tell you honestly what we couldn't see in that time. The Assessment hears from your whole team, in confidence, over two to four weeks. It finds what's hard to see from the top, scores each area, and gives you a roadmap in the order to do things. Think of the review as the viewing, and the Assessment as the full survey before you buy.

When would you suggest an Assessment after the half-day review?

Only when half a day can't give you a clear answer. That's usually when there are several problems and no obvious first one, when the problem is how people work rather than a missing system, when the answer depends on people we haven't heard from, or when a big decision needs evidence in writing. If there's one clear thing to fix, we'll suggest scoping that instead.

How much of our time does it need?

A short survey for you and your managers, one interview of 45 to 60 minutes for each person we speak to, and a debrief at the end.

What access do you need?

It depends on what we find, so we tell you in the first days of the Assessment exactly what we need and why.

Does it cover AI?

Yes. Where AI is used already, where it could help now, and what needs to be in place first.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Interviews are confidential and anonymised, and nothing in the report shows who said what.

Do we have to buy anything afterwards?

No. The report and roadmap are yours to use however you like.

Find out what's worth fixing first.

A free business and technology review is where we start: half a day with you, then a written note within three working days on where we see potential. We'll tell you whether an Assessment makes sense for your business, and if it doesn't yet, we'll say so.
