Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Khiliad Ltd ('Company', 'we', 'us', or 'our') uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise you when you visit our website at https://khiliad.com (Website). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Khiliad Ltd) are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.
Why do we use cookies?
We use first- and third-party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Website to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. Analytics cookies show us how visitors use our Website, and are set only after you choose "Accept analytics". We do not use cookies for advertising or to target your interests. This is described in more detail below.
Which cookies do we use?
Essential. The khiliad-analytics-consent cookie remembers whether you chose "Accept analytics" or "Reject", so we do not ask again on every page. We set it ourselves and keep it for six months.
Analytics, only after you choose "Accept analytics". Google Analytics, which we load through Google Tag Manager, counts visits and shows us which pages people read. It sets cookies whose names start with "_ga". PostHog shows us how people move through the site, and keeps a random visitor ID in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. Until you accept, neither of them loads. If you choose "Reject", they stay off and we delete any Google Analytics cookies set earlier. After "Accept analytics", we also set our own cookie, khiliad-headline, to remember which of our two homepage headlines you saw, so we can compare them: we keep it for six months and renew it on each visit, until you choose "Reject", which deletes it. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page.
The message form. When you open "Send us a message", Google reCAPTCHA loads to check that the message comes from a person. Google may set its own cookies to do this.
How can I control cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. On your first visit, a banner asks you to choose "Accept analytics" or "Reject". You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page. Essential cookies are always on, as they are strictly necessary to provide you with services.
Google Analytics and PostHog load only after you choose "Accept analytics". If you choose "Reject", you can still use all of our Website. You may also set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies.
How can I control cookies on my browser?
As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser to browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information. The following is information about how to manage cookies on the most popular browsers:
- Chrome
- Internet Explorer
- Firefox
- Safari
- Edge
- Opera
What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?
Cookies are not the only way to recognise or track visitors to a website. Similar technologies, such as web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "clear gifs") and your browser's local storage, follow the same rules on our Website as our cookies: anything used for analytics, such as PostHog's visitor ID, waits until you choose "Accept analytics", and nothing is used for advertising.
Do you use Flash cookies or Local Shared Objects?
No. Our Website does not use Flash, so it sets no Flash cookies or Local Shared Objects.
Do you serve targeted advertising?
No. We do not use advertising or targeting cookies, and no third party serves advertising through our Website. Google's Consent Mode keeps advertising storage denied, even after you choose "Accept analytics".
How often will you update this Cookie Policy?
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please therefore revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.
The date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last updated.
