About Khiliad

The people you’ll
work with.

Not account managers. Not salespeople. Us.

Most agencies put their best people in the pitch, then hand you off to whoever’s available. We do it differently.

When you work with Khiliad, you work with Naz and Jimmy. We’re in the meetings, we’re making the decisions, and we’re accountable for what gets delivered.

That’s not a promise we’ll outgrow. It’s the whole point.
Founded

2017 by Jimmy Skowronski. Joined by Naz Keceli in 2021. Built on decades of experience across law, enterprise technology, and consulting. We are based between London and Kent, with growing roots in Bristol.

How we work

UK-led partnership with near-shore engineering in Poland. Senior leadership on every project. Direct access, no layers.

What we believe

The person in the pitch should be the person doing the work. Seniority is the differentiator. Honesty is the strategy.

Why Leadership Matters

The biggest risks
aren’t technical.

Here’s something most agencies won’t tell you: the biggest risks in software projects are human. Miscommunication. Scope drift. Decisions made by people who won’t live with the consequences.

Communication

Scope that drifts because no one has the hard conversation

Most project failures start with someone avoiding a difficult truth. A timeline that’s unrealistic. A requirement that doesn’t make sense. A budget that won’t stretch. We have those conversations early, before they become expensive problems.

Accountability

Decisions made by people who won’t live with the consequences

When the person making the technical decision isn’t the person explaining the outcome to you, incentives get misaligned. We make the decisions and we stand behind them. Same people, start to finish.

Translation

Technical teams who don’t understand business context

A lawyer who understands technology risk. A technologist who understands business outcomes. That’s why we built Khiliad the way we did — so both sides of the conversation are always in the room.

The Founders

Not technologists.
Not salespeople.
Thinkers.

Naz Keceli — Co-Founder & CEO
Former Litigation Lawyer
Nearly two decades · Private Practice · Government Legal Department

Naz spent over a decade as a litigation lawyer — first in private practice, then at the Government Legal Department handling complex, high-stakes cases. She knows what it means to prepare for scenarios you hope never happen, and to protect clients from risks they haven’t thought of yet.

When she joined Khiliad in 2021, it wasn’t to learn about technology. It was to bring the same rigour she applied to legal work: clear contracts, honest assessments, and a focus on what could go wrong — not just what everyone hopes will go right.

As CEO, Naz handles operations, client relationships, and the difficult conversations that other agencies avoid. If something isn’t working, you’ll hear about it from her before it becomes a problem. If we can’t do something, she’ll tell you directly rather than letting it drift.

“What are we actually agreeing to? What happens if this goes wrong?”
Jimmy Skowronski — Co-Founder & CTO
30+ Years in Enterprise Technology
McKinsey · IBM · Developer to CTO

Jimmy started writing code over 30 years ago. Since then, he’s been a developer, an architect, an agile coach, a delivery manager, and a CTO — at McKinsey, IBM, and across dozens of client engagements.

He’s seen what works and what doesn’t. He’s watched big offshoring providers make promises they couldn’t keep. He’s sat in rooms where technical teams said “yes” to timelines they knew were impossible, because no one felt safe saying “no.”

He started Khiliad in 2017 because he knew it could be done better. Not with magic or new methodologies — just with honesty, experience, and the willingness to have difficult conversations early.

“I’ll tell you what’s realistic, what’s risky, and what I’d do if it were my money.”
The person in the pitch is the person doing the work. That’s the trust anchor. When you talk to us about your project, you’re talking to the people who will design the solution, make the technical decisions, and be accountable for the outcome. No handoffs. No layers.
Business Partners. Life Partners.

Adventure-tested.
Resilient.

We’re married. We run Khiliad together. And when we’re not working, we’re usually on motorcycles somewhere — big adventure bikes, off-road trails, mountain passes.
We even started a second company together — Freedom Moto Adventures — running guided motorcycle tours in Iceland. Because apparently one business wasn’t enough.
Why does this matter to you? Because when people hire a small company, they worry about stability. What if the founders fall out? What if one of them leaves?
We’ve built a life together, not just a business. Khiliad isn’t a stepping stone to something else. It’s what we do.
Stability

We’ve built a life together, not just a business

Khiliad isn’t a side project or a stepping stone. It’s the company we chose to build with the experience we spent decades accumulating. We’re not going anywhere.

Freedom Moto Adventures

Guided motorcycle tours in Iceland

Our second company. Big adventure bikes, remote highland trails, and the kind of logistics that require real partnership. If you can navigate Iceland’s interior together, you can navigate a software project.

The Khiliad Manifesto

When decisions need to
be made, these are our
guiding choices.

We value both sides, but we prioritise the one on the left.

We prioritise
Partnership

We build lasting, trust-based relationships where your success is our success. With McKinsey and IBM roots, we bring strategic thinking and disciplined delivery, focusing on long-term value.

Over
Transactions

Short-term engagements, one-off builds, vendor relationships with no shared stake in the outcome.

We prioritise
Direct collaboration

You work directly with the developers and designers building your product. No middle layers, no lost context. Fast, clear decisions and a shared sense of ownership.

Over
Management layers

Account managers, project coordinators, and escalation paths that add cost and remove accountability.

We prioritise
UK leadership, European delivery

Our leadership is UK-based, close enough to meet in person and understand your market. Our European teams keep quality high and costs sensible, without the gaps of distant offshoring.

Over
Distant offshoring

Time zones that make communication difficult, cultural gaps that cause misunderstandings, and quality that varies unpredictably.

We prioritise
Craftsmanship

We use AI to speed up delivery and catch issues early, but always under expert human oversight. Software that’s built quickly, built well, and built to last.

Over
Factory output

Volume-driven development where speed comes at the expense of quality, maintainability, and genuine understanding.

Like the Agile Manifesto, ours compares two things we value. We value both — but we prioritise the one on the left.
